Недавно он подал заявление о приеме на работу, но мы еще не знаем результата. 9. Я не имею представления, в чем обвиняют твоего друга, но я постараюсь прояснить ситуацию. 10. Многие вещи в этой жизни зависят от силы твоего характера.

- «Взять на себя ответственность» — claim responsibility for: Which terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for this crime? Present Perfect, так как важен результат (преступление недавнее).
- «Продажа сигарет детям противозаконна» — It is illegal to sell cigarettes to children. Illegal — «незаконный».
- «Обвинили и судили» — страдательный залог Past Simple: Our neighbour was accused of illegal activity and was tried. Accuse someone of something.
- «Следует подчиняться» — should / must be obeyed: The requirements of this law must be strictly observed (observe — «соблюдать»). Страдательный залог с модальным глаголом: must + be + Participle II.
- «Обманным путём уговорить» — trick someone into + ing: John tricked me into giving him my mobile phone.
- «Отрицать» — deny + ing: She denies being involved in the robbery (denies any involvement).
- «Отвергнуть обвинения» — reject / deny the accusations [ˌækjuˈzeɪʃnz]: The suspects flatly denied all the charges. «Подозреваемые» — suspects.
- «Подать заявление о приёме на работу» — apply for a job; «недавно» — recently, поэтому Past Simple: He recently applied for a job, but we don't know the result yet. Yet — в отрицательном предложении «ещё».
- «Не имею представления» — I have no idea; «обвинять в» — be accused of; «прояснить ситуацию» — clear up the situation: I have no idea what your friend is accused of, but I'll try to clear up the situation. Предлог of остаётся в конце вопросительного придаточного.
- «Зависеть от» — depend on: Many things in this life depend on the strength of your character.
