- tall: Anna — самая высокая, Max — ниже, Kate — ещё ниже. Сравнительная степень: tall — taller than; превосходная: the tallest.
- short: Kate — самая низкая. short — shorter than; the shortest.
- long (волосы): у Anna самые длинные волосы, у Kate — короче. long — longer than; the longest.
- young: Max младше Anna, Kate младше всех. young — younger than; the youngest.
- old: Anna старше Max, она самая старшая. old — older than; the oldest.
- thin: Max худее Kate, он самый худой. thin — thinner than (согласная удваивается); the thinnest.
Односложные прилагательные: в сравнительной степени добавляем -er, в превосходной — the + -est.
У коротких прилагательных сравнительная степень образуется с помощью -er + than, превосходная — с помощью the + -est. Если слово оканчивается на одну гласную и одну согласную (thin), согласная удваивается: thinner, thinnest.
