Could you tell me how to get to..........?
Ты — студент B. Ты стоишь там, где отмечено «You are here!», и вежливо спрашиваешь дорогу, а партнёр A объясняет по такой же карте.
Образцы вопросов (вежливая форма): Excuse me, where is the post office? (Извините, где почта?) Could you tell me how to get to the library? (Не могли бы вы сказать, как пройти в библиотеку?)
Образцы ответов по карте (карта стоит так, что север — вверху):
— Post Office: Go east along Wordsworth Avenue (to the right). The post office is on the right, between Kate Street and Blake Street, next to Apple Street.
— Sports Centre: Go down Kate Street. The sports centre is on the right, at the corner of Kate Street and Apple Street.
— Library: Go east along Wordsworth Avenue, past Kate Street and Blake Street. The library is on the right, after Blake Street.
— Hospital: Turn left and go along Wordsworth Avenue. The hospital is on the left.
— Royal Hotel: Go straight on, past the bank (it is on your left). The Royal Hotel is on the right, next to the bank.
Полезные слова: turn left/right (поверните налево/направо), go straight on (идите прямо), cross (пересеките), on the left/right (слева/справа), at the corner (на углу), next to (рядом с), opposite (напротив).
