Possessive ('s/s'). Write sentences as in the example. (Притяжательный падеж. Напиши предложения по образцу.)
1 This is Mary. This is her bicycle. – This is Mary's bicycle.
2 This is Tom. This is his mother.
3 Look at the boys. This is their ball.
4 They are John and Sue. This is their house.
5 This is Sue. This is her sister.
6 Look at the women. This is their car.
7 These are Mary and Laura. This is their dollhouse.

Решение

Принадлежность в английском выражаем окончанием 's: к существительному в единственном числе — 's (Tom's mother), к существительному во множественном числе на -s — только апостроф (the boys' ball). Если множественное число образовано не по правилу (women, men, children), ставим 's: the women's car. Если вещь принадлежит двоим, 's добавляем к последнему имени: John and Sue's house.
) Tom's mother;
) the boys' ball (boys оканчивается на -s — только апостроф);
) John and Sue's house (вещь общая);
) Sue's sister;
) the women's car (women — неправильное множественное число);
) Mary and Laura's dollhouse.
