Рассказ написан в прошедшем времени (Past Simple и Past Continuous), события связаны словами first, then, suddenly, at last.
В рассказе используют прошедшие времена: Past Simple для последовательных событий, Past Continuous для фона. Для связности нужны слова-связки (one day, then, suddenly, at last) и яркие слова о чувствах (excited, scared, relieved).
A Day in the Forest
One sunny Saturday morning in July, Tom and his sister Kate went to the forest near their village. They were very excited. Soon they found an old map under a tree and decided to follow it. Suddenly, it started to rain, and Kate disappeared. Tom felt scared and shouted her name. At last, he found her near a small cave. She was cold but safe. Tom was so relieved! They went home together and understood that friends and family must always stay together.
