Порядок прилагательных: сначала мнение (beautiful, comfortable), потом размер (small, large), возраст (old, modern), затем существительное. После there is используется единственное число, после there are — множественное.
I live in Novosibirsk. It is a large, modern and industrial city, but it is also very beautiful. My neighbourhood is busy and a bit noisy. The streets are wide and clean, and there are many tree-lined avenues.
I live in a comfortable, spacious flat in a big old block of flats. There is a bus stop in front of my block of flats. There is a baker's next to the bus stop, and a small corner shop on the corner of our street. The supermarket is opposite my block of flats, and the chemist's is between the supermarket and the bank. My school is behind the park, and there is a café to the left of the school. There is also a hairdresser's to the right of the bank. The shops are usually crowded, and some of them are expensive.
My neighbours are very different. My next-door neighbour, Mrs Petrova, is very sociable and helpful. She is also caring and talkative, and she often visits us for a chat. The man from the flat above us is a bit rude and easily annoyed, because our street is noisy. Another neighbour is nosy and forgetful, but she is not selfish.
I really like living in Novosibirsk. It is a great city, and I am happy here.
