Подбираем ответ по местоимению:

- Is David...? — David → he → d
В кратком ответе существительное заменяется местоимением: name → it, mum → she, David → he, Tom and Dan → they, Irena and I → we. На вопрос с you отвечают с I.

- Вопрос с you → отвечаем с I: Yes, I am. / No, I'm not.

Краткий ответ состоит из Yes/No, местоимения и формы be. В утвердительном ответе краткая форма не используется: Yes, I am, а не «Yes, I'm».
