Ящички: this, these.
Ящичек this — слова в единственном числе (this + один предмет). Ящичек these — слова во множественном числе (these + несколько предметов).
Определяем число каждого слова:
- Окончания -es после -ch, -sh, -ss: benches, classes, brushes, matches, bushes, sandwiches, torches, watches, churches, witches, wishes — множественное число.
- Слова на -man во множественном числе меняют окончание на -men: boatmen, firemen, gentlemen, policemen, sportsmen — множественное число.
- Исключение: goose — geese, поэтому geese — множественное число.
- Cars — множественное число (окончание -s).
- Слова key, piano, cameraman, policeman, chairman, monkey, seaman, showman, goose, tray, tree, postman, weatherman — единственное число.
This употребляется с существительными в единственном числе, these — во множественном. Слова на -man во множественном числе имеют форму -men; goose образует форму geese.
