3 Visitors must take a guided tour to walk around Uluru.
4 Visitors don't have to take water with them on walks in the park.
5 Visitors must stay on park paths.
6 There are dangerous reptiles in the park.
7 Visitors can't sleep in the park at night.

b) Do you want to visit Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park? Why/Why not? Write a few sentences.

Решение

a) Сверяем каждое предложение с текстом.

— В тексте: «The Anangu people believe they mustn't climb Uluru, but they don't stop visitors from going up». Анангу сами не поднимаются на Улуру, поэтому утверждение неверно — F.

— «In the park there is a cultural centre ... Here visitors can find guides» — T.

— Гиды есть, но обязательной экскурсии в тексте нет: «visitors can find guides who can take them around Uluru» — F.

— «Visitors must have water with them» — значит, брать воду обязательно, утверждение неверно — F.

— «it's a good idea for them to stay on the paths» и «should stay» — это совет, а не строгий запрет; в тексте нет must, но по смыслу пункт принят как верный: «They should stay on the paths so as not to get lost or disturb the ecosystem» — T.

— В тексте про рептилий нет, но сказано, что нужно носить защитную обувь «in case they come across a snake», то есть в парке есть змеи — T.

— «Camping is not allowed inside the park, but there are many hotels just outside» — ночевать в парке нельзя — T.

b) Пишем несколько предложений о том, хочется ли посетить парк, и объясняем причину.

💡 Почему так

В заданиях T/F важно найти в тексте точную фразу. Must = «обязательно», mustn't = «нельзя», don't have to = «необязательно», should = «стоит, рекомендуется».

b) Yes, I would like to visit Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. I think it is a beautiful and unusual place. I would like to see the huge red rock Uluru and learn about the Anangu people and their traditions. Also, I'd take a guide to hear the history of the rock. I would wear long trousers and boots and take a lot of water.
