В формальной речи if можно опустить и поставить вспомогательное слово перед подлежащим (инверсия):
— First Conditional: If + Present Simple → Should + подлежащее + V (как в примере);
— Second Conditional: If I were → Were I;
— Third Conditional: If they had brought → Had they brought.
- If I were you → Were I you, I would apply for the job.
- If I see Terry → Should I see Terry, I'll tell him to call you.
- If they had brought a map → Had they brought a map, they wouldn't have got lost.
Вторая часть предложения не меняется.
