Then they saw a man and huge elephants. The Professor said that those animals had lived thousands of years ago. He was sure that people would be amazed when they got home. But Axel was afraid that nobody would believe them.
After that Axel found a very old knife. The Professor thought it must be Arne Saknussemm's knife. Then they found his initials on a cave wall. It meant that Saknussemm had been there, and that was the last part of his journey.
Finally, the Professor said they must hurry back to Hans and the raft.
