How to make fish and chips
- First, ______ the potatoes thickly.
- ______ the potato slices in hot oil for 5–7 minutes.
- In a bowl, ______ flour, eggs and water to make the batter.
- ______ the fish into the batter and ______ it until it is covered.
- ______ the fish into the hot oil and ______ some salt on top.
(Note: In sentence 4, you can use "pour" as "dip/cover" in the context of a school recipe.)
Fry.
Pour ... stir.
- slice
- Fry
- mix
- Pour ... stir
- Add ... add
Choose the correct verb form.

- (Do you cook / Are you cooking) ... right now? I can smell something delicious!

- Look! He (pours / is pouring) the cream onto the scones.
- She (doesn't like / isn't liking) marmalade; she prefers honey.

Present Simple: have.
Are you cooking.
- like — глагол состояния, в Continuous не употребляется: doesn't like.
- Usually — регулярность: usually eat.
- have
- Are you cooking
- drink

Write 5–7 sentences about a traditional dish in your country. Answer these questions:
What is the dish called?
What are the main ingredients?
How do you make it? (use cooking verbs: slice, chop, stir, pour, add, mix, fry)
When do people usually eat it?
План:
My favourite traditional Russian dish is called pelmeni. The main ingredients are flour, eggs, water, minced meat and onion. First, I mix flour, eggs and water to make the dough. Then I chop the onion and add it to the meat. I put the filling into small pieces of dough. After that, people usually boil pelmeni, but some people fry them. Russian families usually eat pelmeni for dinner, especially in winter.
