Dear Editor,
I am writing in response to your article about the lack of green spaces in our town. I believe this problem affects everyone, especially children and older people.
First, the local council should turn empty lots into small parks. These spaces could have trees, benches and safe play areas. Residents could help plant flowers and look after the trees. This would make the neighbourhood more attractive and bring people together.
Second, the town should protect the green areas that already exist. New buildings should not be allowed to replace public gardens or sports fields. The council could also create walking and cycling paths between parks, so that more people can enjoy them.
Finally, I suggest organising regular clean-up days. Local schools, businesses and community groups could take part. The council could provide tools and rubbish bags.
Green spaces improve people’s health and make towns more pleasant places to live. I hope these suggestions will be considered.
