Copy the word map in your notebook. In a minute add as many words as you can think of. Compare with your partner.
Word map HOUSES: types — detached, cottage; rooms — study, hall; outside features — drive, porch; furniture — armchair, sofa; appliances — dishwasher, vacuum cleaner.
Use the words to describe your house to your partner.
I live in ... There are ... rooms in it. ... etc.
Перерисовываем карту в тетрадь: в центре HOUSES, от него пять веток — types, rooms, outside features, furniture, appliances. К каждой ветке дописываем свои слова.
types: detached house, cottage, flat, semi-detached house, bungalow, block of flats
rooms: study, hall, kitchen, bedroom, living room, bathroom, attic
outside features: drive, porch, garden, garage, fence, balcony
furniture: armchair, sofa, bed, wardrobe, table, bookcase
appliances: dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, fridge, washing machine, microwave, cooker
Затем рассказываем о своём доме по образцу «I live in ... There are ... rooms in it».
Словарная карта группирует слова по темам и подтемам, поэтому новые слова легче запоминать. Для описания дома используем конструкции I live in ... и There is / There are ...
I live in a flat in a big block of flats. There are four rooms in it: a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen and a hall. In the living room there is a sofa and an armchair. In the kitchen there is a fridge, a cooker and a microwave. We have a vacuum cleaner and a washing machine, too. There is a small balcony. I like my home very much.

Текст и картинки к заданию на фото не видны, поэтому проверить предположения по тексту нельзя. Предположение до чтения: на космической станции нет гравитации, всё нужно закреплять, места мало, а связь с Землёй только по радио и интернету.
I think living on a space station would be interesting but difficult. People float because there is no gravity, the rooms are small, and astronauts live far from their families.
