Глагол to be в Past Simple имеет две формы: was (I, he, she, it) и were (you, we, they, а также несколько лиц, например Jack and Sam). Для вопроса ставим was или were на первое место. В кратком ответе повторяем подходящее местоимение и was/were. В отрицательном ответе добавляем not: wasn't или weren't.
- she → Was she sad yesterday? Yes, she was.
- they → Were they at home last Monday? No, they weren't.
- you → Were you in
st grade last year? No, I wasn't. (на вопрос к «you» отвечаем от первого лица) - your brother → he → Was your brother ill? Yes, he was.
- Jack and Sam → they → Were Jack and Sam at the bar yesterday? Yes, they were.
- the movie → it → Was the movie funny? No, it wasn't.
- they → Were they at school a week ago? Yes, they were.
В Past Simple глагол to be сам образует вопрос (was/were выносим на первое место) и отрицание (+ not), вспомогательный глагол did не нужен. Was — с I, he, she, it; were — с you, we, they и с несколькими лицами.
