The older generation seem to have chosen to forget so much about their past. It is obvious to a teenager that their parents must have made some mistakes in their youth, disagreed with their parents, listened to the 'wrong' music, or made the 'wrong' friends. But it is rare to find a parent who admits to it.
A Parents expect too much perfection from teens.
B Teens are unable to see a parent's point of view.
C Parents frustrate teens by denying their past.
D Teens should admit their mistakes to their parents.
Главная мысль абзаца: старшее поколение «забыло» своё прошлое. Подростку очевидно, что родители в молодости ошибались, но редко кто из них в этом признаётся ("it is rare to find a parent who admits to it").
Проверяем варианты:
- A — в тексте нет речи об ожидании совершенства от подростков.
- B — в тексте не сказано, что подростки не понимают родителей.
- D — в тексте не подростки, а родители не признают ошибки.
- C — родители отрицают своё прошлое (denying their past), что раздражает подростков. Это подходит.
Видно, что слово "frustrate" передаёт отношение подростков, а "denying their past" — «chosen to forget» и «rare to find a parent who admits to it».
Заголовок должен передавать главную мысль всего абзаца. Неверные варианты говорят о другом: о перфекционизме, непонимании или о подростках, а не о родителях.
