The Centre for Cultural Interchange invites you to join thousands of families in playing hosts to exchange students from 30 different nations.
b THINK! Would you like to stay with a host family? What difficulties might you face? In three minutes, write a few sentences on the topic. Read your sentences to your partner.
a) Объявление обещает знакомство с другой культурой и дружбу. В ответе объясняем, что гость поможет семье практиковать язык и узнать традиции своей страны.
b) Называем желание пожить в семье и возможные трудности: непривычная еда, правила дома и разговор на иностранном языке. В условных ситуациях используем would и might: «хотел бы», «возможно, столкнулся бы».

a) My family would enjoy hosting a foreign student. We could learn about another culture and practise English together. We might even make a lifelong friend.
b) I would like to stay with a host family. At first, I might feel shy when speaking English. Their food and house rules might be different from mine. I think I would get used to them and enjoy my stay.
