Report the exchanges as in the example.
1 Susan: Hi Jack. Where were you last night? I was waiting for you all evening.
Jack: I’m sorry, but I was watching TV and I fell asleep.
2 Julia: Which forms of public transport do you use, Penny?
Penny: I usually use the bus or the tram, but I never use the metro.
3 Frank: Hello, Pat. Don’t you feel well?
Pat: I feel terrible. I have a terrible headache.
Frank: Take an aspirin and have a rest. You’ll feel better soon.
4 David: Did you go to the party last night?
Gwen: Yes, but I left early.

Решение

В образце Past Simple were → had been, Past Continuous was waiting → had been waiting, fell → had fallen. При пересказе last night становится the previous night.
Вопрос Julia начинается с which, после него нужен прямой порядок слов Penny used. В ответе Present Simple use/never use переходит в Past Simple used/never used.
Вопрос «Don’t you feel well?» требует if/whether. Ответ Пэт в Present Simple: felt, had. Побуждение Take an aspirin передаём told Pat to take; обещание You’ll feel better → she would feel better.
Вопрос David с did превращаем в if/whether Gwen had gone. Ответ left early становится she had left early. Во всех пунктах меняем местоимения согласно говорящему.

Susan asked Jack where he had been the previous night and told him that she had been waiting for him all evening. Jack said he was sorry, but he had been watching TV and had fallen asleep.
Julia asked Penny which forms of public transport she used. Penny said that she usually used the bus or the tram but never used the metro.
Frank asked Pat if she felt well. Pat said she felt terrible and had a terrible headache. Frank told her to take an aspirin and have a rest, adding that she would feel better soon.
David asked Gwen if she had gone to the party the previous night. Gwen said that she had, but she had left early.
