How can we reduce litter?
The amount of litter we produce is growing, and our towns are becoming less pleasant places to live. Several simple measures could help solve this problem.
To begin with, local councils should set up recycling schemes. As a result, paper, glass and plastic could be used again instead of being thrown away.
Another solution would be to involve young people in clean-up programmes. Consequently, they would learn to care for their parks and neighbourhoods.
Finally, people should choose products with biodegradable packaging. This would reduce the amount of rubbish in landfill sites.
To sum up, recycling, clean-up programmes and better packaging could make our towns much cleaner.
