a) Think of a traditional dish in Russia and answer the questions.
1 What is it called?
2 What is it made from? (meat, potatoes, etc.)
3 How do you cook it? (bake, boil, etc.)
4 What does it taste like? (delicious, spicy, etc.)
b) Use your answers to write a short email to your English-speaking pen friend about the dish (100–110 words).

Dear Matt,
I hope you are well. In your last email, you asked me about a traditional dish in my country.....
«Be made from» перечисляет ингредиенты, «boil» — варить, «serve with» — подавать с.

Dear Matt,
I hope you are well. In your last email, you asked me about a traditional dish in my country. My favourite is borscht, a colourful soup that many families in Russia enjoy. It is made with beetroot, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and sometimes meat. First, we chop the vegetables. Then we boil them with the meat until everything is soft. We usually serve the soup hot with a spoonful of sour cream. It tastes rich and delicious, especially on a cold winter day. My family often makes it at weekends, and my grandmother adds fresh herbs. I hope you can try it one day!
Best wishes,
Alex
