с. № Question tags and intonation
a) Complete the question tags in sentences 1–6. Listen and decide if the intonation is rising or falling. Which question tags show that: 1 the speaker is (almost) sure about what he says and doesn't expect an answer? 2 the speaker isn't sure and expects an answer? 1 She isn't here, .....? 2 They're late, .....? 3 He arrived yesterday, .....? 4 She is sleeping, .....? 5 We can't go, .....? 6 She hasn't left, .....? b) Listen and repeat.
Решение
а) Для «хвостика» сохраняем вспомогательный глагол и меняем утверждение на отрицание либо наоборот. isn't → is she; they're → aren't they; Past Simple arrived → didn't he; is → isn't she; can't → can we; hasn't → has she.
a) . She isn't here, is she? . They're late, aren't they? . He arrived yesterday, didn't he? . She is sleeping, isn't she? . We can't go, can we? . She hasn't left, has she? Falling intonation shows that the speaker is almost sure; rising intonation shows that the speaker expects an answer. Интонация отдельных фраз зависит от записи, по которой проверяет учитель.
