- «A fool and his money are easily parted» — «Дурак и его деньги быстро расстаются»: глупый человек быстро тратит деньги (parted — разлучены). Русский аналог: «Дуракам деньги не впрок» / «Дурак и деньги — не вместе».
- «A full cup must be carried steadily» — «Полную чашу нужно нести ровно»: с большим богатством или ответственностью нужно обращаться осторожно. Русское: «Тише едешь — дальше будешь» (по смыслу осторожности).
- «A great fortune in the hands of a fool is a great misfortune» — «Большое состояние в руках глупца — большая беда» (fortune — состояние, misfortune — несчастье). Русское: «Дураку большое богатство — большая беда».

Last month my brother got money for his birthday and spent it all on sweets and games in one day. After that he had nothing for the cinema with friends. «A fool and his money are easily parted», I said.

«A fool and his money are easily parted» means that a foolish person spends money quickly. Russian: «Дуракам деньги не впрок». Example: my brother spent all his birthday money in one day. (Образец; пример личный.)
